Artist's Comments
My second print for A-Kon 2009. This is Kafuka Fuura and Kaere Kimura from the unlicenced but popular anime/manga "Sayonara Zetsubou-Sensei." [link] Kafuka is holding a doll of the Anime's main character, Nozumu Ishitoki, the titular "Mr. Despair." I was really experimental with the background here; drawing it entirely in sharpie then altering the colors as I scanned it into Photoshop. Anyone who sees the anime knows why the bald guy takes the place of the moon (Or not.)

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on.  reports, 1d 23h agoThis newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and *Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. |
